The Way to Greater Success
Kingdom Technology helps clients to answer two questions:
“How can we achieve greater success?”
“What technology investments are the most likely to bring us success?”
After successful corporate careers, we have been advising companies since 1985. One of our recent clients says he expects to save US$0.8 billion over 22 years, after a 6-month project that cost him about $175,000 – including his own staff time. It involved a global comparison of the specification, maintenance, refurbishment and life extension methods for a certain class of assets. It also included comparisons of productivity, asset condition monitoring methods and quality and availability outcomes.
He is by no means our first client to measure the benefits of our projects in hundreds of millions of US$. Most of the larger savings have come from better asset management and changes in organisation structures and methods.
But success does not always mean greater profitability, lower cost or higher revenues. For every client, we seek to understand what success means for them. One wanted to introduce best practices across Europe in managing and maintaining roads. Another needed to know if and how their signalling system could achieve only 2 minutes between trains. A third wanted to know how to organise their revenue collection system to meet their needs after a merger.

Satisfied Clients
Most of our clients are in the railway business or other asset-intensive sectors. Our direct clients in 2006-9 include the Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway, (MTR Corporation or MTRC), Atkins, Siemens, and Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC), though we also worked for the biggest department store chain in Ghana and have previously worked for several electricity companies, mines and process manufacturing companies. We have been working with MTRC and KCRC since 1994 and 1998 respectively. Earlier direct railway clients, for whom we now work mainly through Imperial College, include the metros of Berlin, Paris, London and many other cities, as well as national railways such as DB, RENFE, Trenitalia and Irish Rail.
Our Book Offer
Many of the lessons that we have learnt about railways are included in Robin Hirsch’s book, Managing Railway Operations and Maintenance – Best Practices from KCRC. It sold almost 2,500 copies. You can buy one of the last copies for £30+P&P from http://www.anharris.co.uk
